DC Fly-In Trips

The Paducah Chamber’s Annual DC Fly-In, presented by Swift & Staley, was a great success! The 45 attendees represented a diverse group from various sectors of the local economy including government, banking, health care, non-profit, education, DOE contractors, railroad, riverport, river industries and professional services. During the two-day trip, attendees held 22 meetings, with more than 30 individuals including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, Department of Energy Under Secretary Paul Dabbar, Senator Rand Paul, and KY Congressmen James Comer, Hal Rogers, Brett Guthrie, John Yarmuth and Andy Barr. The group also heard from the Federal Aviation Administration, Maritime Administration and DOT Infrastructure Officer for BUILD, as well as many other agency officials, Congressional staff, and legislative experts to discuss important federal policy issues impacting the region, state and nation. WPSD Local 6 News Anchor Todd Faulkner and Chief Photojournalist Mike Spissinger traveled with the Chamber to report on conversations. To read or view their stories, click here.
