The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce’s Power in Partnership Breakfast on July 11 will feature a Salute to the Arts and speaker Jay Dick, Senior Director of Advocacy and Partnerships in the Government Affairs Department at Americans for the Arts. HUB is the sponsor.
The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center. Pre-registration is required by Monday, July 8 at noon at paducahchamber.org or by calling 270-443-1746. Power Card holders do not have to pre-register. The cost is $25. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to see the displays by our local arts-related organizations.
The program will also feature the Leadership Paducah Class #37 class project fundraising total reveal. The class has been raising funds to benefit New Pathways for Children which will go toward the furnishings for the new Burse Family Home and a 15-passenger van.
Jay Dick is the Senior Director of Advocacy and Partnerships in the Government Affairs Department at Americans for the Arts. As a 25-year veteran of K Street, Capitol Hill, the private sector, and federal, state, and local campaigns, Dick possesses a vast body of knowledge in the fields of arts policy, government, the legislative process, partnerships and grassroots advocacy.
He oversees Americans for the Arts’ partnerships and works closely with the members and staffs of the National Association of Counties (NACo), the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), the National League of Cities (NLC) along with various private/business organizations.
His program will be on the Arts & Economic Prosperity study, an economic and social impact study conducted by the Americans for the Arts. Results of the study, released by the Paducah Convention and Visitors Bureau last October, showed that Paducah’s nonprofit arts and culture industry generated $36,163,994 in economic activity in 2022. Paducah, Louisville and Lexington were the three cities in Kentucky that participated in the study.
