The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce’s February 1st Power in Partnership Breakfast will feature speaker George Wilson, Paducah native, NFL veteran and philanthropist. The breakfast is sponsored by the McCracken County Chapter of the NAACP and the McCracken County Community Career Endowment, and also honors Black History Month.

The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center. Pre-registration is required by Monday, January 29 at noon at paducahchamber.org or by calling 270-443-1746. Power Card holders do not have to pre-register.  The cost is $25.

George Wilson is a Paducah native, Paducah Tilghman graduate and a 10-year NFL safety for the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans. Wilson has received the Buffalo Bills Walter Payton Man of the Year Award twice, once in 2009 and then again in 2011, and was also a part of the 2022 Induction to the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame.

While Wilson is a well-known name in the community for his athletic accomplishments, he is also known for his philanthropic efforts as well. He has used sports to make a difference in his local community. In 2008, Wilson was the recipient of the prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award, which is the highest service honor one can receive from the White House. In 2010, he founded the George Wilson S.A.F.E.T.Y. Foundation.

His foundation, based in Paducah, has a mission to “Save Adolescents from the Everyday Trials of Youth by using life skills as a tool to educate youth on how to survive in different environments.” He provides hope and inspiration to so many youths through his Annual Football & Fitness camps, Christmas Shopping sprees, as well as Youth Leadership Retreats.
