The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Power in Partnership Luncheon on Thursday, October 12. The program will feature a Gubernatorial Candidate Forum with Governor Andy Beshear and Attorney General Daniel Cameron. This luncheon takes the place of the Chamber’s monthly breakfast and is sponsored by Paducah Bank.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center. The event is open to the public, but attendees must pre-register. Pre-registration is required by Monday, October 9 by noon at paducahchamber.org or call 270-443-1746. Power Card holders do not have to pre-register. The cost is $25.
This is an opportunity for area citizens to hear directly from the candidates for Kentucky Governor and learn about their plans for the Commonwealth. The moderator is Todd Faulkner, Evening News Anchor at WPSD Local 6. Each candidate will be allowed to give opening and closing statements. Candidates will be asked questions and given a time limit to respond.
Andy Beshear was elected as the state’s 63rd Governor in November 2019. He is the son of the 61st Governor of Kentucky, Steve Beshear and first lady Jane Beshear. Before he was elected Governor, he served as the state’s Attorney General since 2015. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt with a bachelor’s in political science and anthropology and holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia law school.
Daniel Cameron is the 51st Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is the first Black ?American independently elected to statewide office in Kentucky's history and the first Republican elected to the Attorney General's office since 1948. Prior to his election, he served as legal counsel to United States Senator Mitch McConnell in Washington, D.C. He attended the University of Louisville and graduated from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.
Attendees will be asked to follow these guidelines:
- No campaign banners, brochures, buttons, pins or other campaign materials or promotion activities will be permitted by attendees or candidates.
- Supporters must be respectful and courteous. No unruly behavior will be allowed. Those who do not follow these rules will be asked to leave.
- The audience will be asked to remain silent and to silence their phones during the Forum and to refrain from responding to any candidate’s answers or comments.
