The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Meeting and Business Celebration on Thursday, September 9, at 6 p.m., at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. The presenting sponsors are Mercy Health – Lourdes and Computer Services, Inc.
Local businesses and citizens will be recognized with the Chamber’s annual awards including Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and others. The outstanding Non-Profit Award related to Health and Human Services will be presented with a cash award from Paducah Bank and a Non-Profit related to Arts and Culture will receive a cash award from the Paducah Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Leadership Paducah Alumni Association will present the Outstanding Leadership Alum Award. The Paducah Sun Business Journal will recognize the top 10 finalists for the Young Leader Award and announce the winner that will receive a $1,000 continuing education award.
2020 Board Chair Chad Beyer, i5 design group, will be recognized and ceremoniously pass the gavel to 2021 Board Chair Dr. Anton Reece, West Kentucky Community & Technical College. The 2020 and 2021 officers and Board Members will also be recognized.
The emcees are Todd Faulkner, WPSD Local 6, and Suzanne Farmer, Mercy Health.
Ashli Watts, President and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber, will give a brief update about the state of Kentucky’s economy. Watts joined the Kentucky Chamber in November 2012 and was named the President and CEO in November 2019. Watts graduated from Campbellsville University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history and holds a master’s degree in public policy and administration from the University of Louisville.
Safety protocols will be followed to include additional spacing of tables, reduced capacity of number of attendees and wearing of masks.
