Youth LEAD 2020-21 Class #10 Announced

The participants for the Youth LEAD class for 2020-21 have been selected. Leadership Paducah Alumni Association (LPAA) and Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce 32 area youth were selected to participate in Class #10. Class members take part in a five-month educational course that began with orientation and the first class in April and concludes with their graduation at the Paducah Chamber Power in Partnership breakfast in November. 

“Normally, the 2020-21 class would have started in the fall but we delayed the program due to COVID-19 restrictions. We now feel we can safely host the class and Class #10 will be divided between participants’ junior and senior years,” said Sandra Wilson, Chamber President.               

Youth LEAD is a program designed to develop and prepare students for future community support and leadership roles in Paducah-McCracken County. Youth LEAD targets high school juniors in Paducah Public, McCracken County Public, and the private school systems, St. Mary and Community Christian Academy. 

Students spend one day a month learning about human needs and service learning, communication and career development, business and economy, law and government, and health care in Paducah and McCracken County. 

Members of Class #10 are as follows: 

Community Christian Academy – Ashley Kendall and Sara Neiswender. 

McCracken County High School – Addison Allen, Karlie Bowen, Barrett Buchanan, Stevie Collins, Carlie England, Madelyn Faughn, Tylee Haws, Hillary Hollowell, Ava Kelly, Willie Lin, Zack Masek, Bri McGregor, Emma Morrow, Reese Pohle, Ali Richard, Ethan Roberts, Olivia Townsend and Bailey Watts.  

Paducah Tilghman High School – Lois Akpabio, Natalie Besaw, Renee Chua, Gabrielle Copeland, Dana Hernández, Lillian Holm, Zabrina Hunter, Kate LeBuhn and Harli Morris. 

St. Mary High School – Kali Patel, Therese Smith and Lily Wilson.

The selection process includes leadership potential/skills, school activities, community and diversity among schools, ethnicity and gender. Leadership Paducah Alumni Association, the alumni organization of Leadership Paducah, is a separate organization affiliated with the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.
