Kentucky Commissioner of Aviation Todd Bloch will be the featured speaker for the August Power in Partnership breakfast of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce. The breakfast will be held on Thursday, August 1 at 7:30 a.m. at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. Mercy Health is the sponsor.
Bloch will share information about the aviation industry and the importance of airports to Kentucky and local communities. Prior to joining the Transportation Cabinet in the Department of Aviation, he spent over 31 years serving his country in the U.S. Army and U.S Coast Guard.
A former Army pilot, he held a variety of positions domestically and abroad that provided diverse experience in leadership and management including: commanding officer of an Army logistics company, liaison to the Brazilian Army, and directorships in logistics, security, and administration. As a search and rescue helicopter pilot in the Coast Guard, his duties included director of training and education, public affairs, and facilities management, as well as Chief Financial Officer. He was awarded an Air Medal for one of his lifesaving missions. He completed his military career as the Director of Aviation Law Enforcement Training.
Bloch is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and also earned a master's degree in leadership and ethics from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.
