The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce exceeded their goal for the Annual Membership and Total Resource campaign with recruiting 120 new members. A victory celebration was held for the campaign volunteers and Chamber members to reveal the numbers and recognize the volunteers. Daniel Jones, Chair-elect of the Chamber and owner of Strawberry Hills Pharmacy, served as the 2018 Campaign Chairman. The celebration was held at the Commerce Center and sponsored by Strawberry Hills Pharmacy.
“It has been an honor to serve as chairman for the Chamber’s membership Campaign,” said Jones. “Not only did we meet our goal, we exceeded it with unwavering support from the 100 awesome team members and 10 unbelievable captains that truly believe in the mission and vision of the chamber. Today we celebrate our achievement and we will continue to fight for the business sector in our community.” The goal was to recruit 100 new members.
"I want to congratulate Daniel and Chamber President Sandra Wilson and thank the many volunteers and businesses who participated in this campaign,” said Leon Owens, Chamber Board Chair and President of Swift & Staley. “Gaining 118 new members in this short-time is a significant accomplishment. This has been a very busy time in our community and for the Chamber with our recent trip to DC. We are thrilled to have our total membership exceeding 1,000 members and now at 1,068 members!”
The top volunteer producer for the campaign for the second consecutive year was Bradley Shoulta with Payment Plus. Shoulta individually recruited 31 new members. Second place individual producer award went to Janice Cleary with Paducah Bank; third place was Rachel Duncan with CFSB; fourth place was Shane Hook with Withers Broadcasting; and fifth place was Steve Christmas with Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership.
The Payment Plus team, with Team Captain Bradley Shoulta, received the “traveling trophy” award for Overall Team Winner. The Paducah Bank team captained by Cleary was the second place team and the third place team was Advantage Insurance with Jessica Newman as captain.
Membership to the Chamber is open throughout the year. Each fall a team of volunteers are involved with an annual campaign to assist the Chamber with recruiting new members and sponsorships.
The Paducah Chamber is a two time winner as the Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives in 2017 and 2011 and was awarded the top 5-Star Accreditation by the U.S. Chamber earlier this year.
The Paducah Chamber is the region’s largest business advocacy organization and is the fifth largest Chamber in the state.
The Chamber has a strong partnership base with local businesses – both small and large, manufacturers, industries, local governments, education, non-profit organizations and individuals. About two-thirds of the Chamber members represent businesses with 15 employees or less.
