The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce was honored on August 24 with two Excellence Awards by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives (KCCE) at their annual conference in Frankfort. The Paducah Chamber received an award for Outstanding Membership Growth in 2016 and also tied with the Bowling Green Chamber for Outstanding Membership Retention.
The annual awards are presented based on size and budget for Chambers and the Paducah Chamber competes in the largest category which includes the chambers in Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green and Northern Kentucky.
The Paducah Chamber was also recognized for winning the prestigious Chamber of the Year from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, the national organization serving the United States and Canada, for being a Kentucky Certified Chamber and for their 4-Star Accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Sandra Wilson, President of the Paducah Chamber, was elected to a three year term to the KCCE Board of Directors and will serve as Treasurer for the upcoming year.
KCCE is a statewide network of professionals dedicated to promoting professional education, ethical standards and efficiency in chamber of commerce management. Established in 1965, the organization created the Excellence Awards to recognize superior achievement and professional excellence among local chambers of commerce throughout Kentucky.
The Paducah Chamber is the region’s largest business advocacy organization with approximately 1,000 businesses as members. The Chamber has a strong partnership base with local businesses – both small and large, manufacturers, industries, local governments, non-profit organizations and individuals.
The Paducah Chamber was awarded the Chamber of the Year by the Association Chamber of Commerce Executives also in 2011. The Paducah Chamber’s 4-Star Accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce puts them among the top 10% of chambers nationwide. The Paducah Chamber is one of only seven Chambers statewide to receive the Kentucky Certified Chamber award.
