Frankfort Legislative Trips
“Earthquake in KY – Buckle Your Seatbelt – Historic Session”
Much has been said to describe the changes expected with the 2017 Kentucky General Assembly. The words above were used at a KY Chamber state legislative briefing. Your Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce is prepared and ready to represent you. While 2017 is a short session, there are opportunities to advance the priorities of the business community.
On Wednesday, February 15, the Paducah Chamber group traveled to our State Capital to ensure your VOICE was heard. Additionally, the Paducah Chamber employs a legislative agent, John Cooper with Capital Link, to be our representative in Frankfort on a daily basis. While in Frankfort, meetings were scheduled with the Governor (and/or key members of his cabinet), other Cabinet officials and members of the General Assembly to advocate for our legislative priorities. Joining us for the lunch and legislative reception were the Murray-Calloway County and Greater Owensboro Chambers and their elected officials.
This year the Paducah Chamber was privileged to assist with the Republican Senate Caucus meeting in Paducah and to have Senate President Robert Stivers attend and briefly speak at our monthly breakfast. Now it’s time for us to voice our priorities in Frankfort.
It is critical for our community to be heard in Frankfort and we thank you for your support through your sponsorship and participation.
