The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce will have their Annual Meeting and Business Celebration on January 26, at 6 p.m., at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. The presenting sponsors are Lourdes and CSI. The theme for this year is Courage to Succeed.
Local businesses and citizens will be recognized with the Chamber’s annual awards including Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Summit Award and Volunteer of the Year. The outstanding Non-Profit Award will also be presented with a $1,000 cash award from The Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky.
The Leadership Paducah Foundation will present the Outstanding Leadership Alum Award. The Paducah Sun Business Journal will recognize the top finalists for the Young Leader Award and announce the winner that will receive a $1,000 continuing education award.
Tammy Zimmerman, President/CEO of Payment Plus and 2017 Chair of the Paducah Chamber Board will pass the gavel to the 2018 Chair of the Chamber Board Leon Owens, President of Swift & Staley. New officers and board members will be recognized.
The entertainment for the evening is Vallie Collins, a passenger on the plane that made an emergency landing in the Hudson River. This event has become known as “Miracle on the Hudson” and she will share her inspirational story.
The dinner will include strolling stations featuring a variety of food selections. The reservation deadline for individual tickets is January 18, by 5 p.m. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
