Small businesses are important to the Paducah Chamber with about two/thirds of our members employing 25 employees or less. The Chamber has as an initiative in our Strategic Plan to strengthen our partnership with small businesses by providing statistical data, celebrations, recognition, seminars, and establishing an advisory group.
In May our Power in Partnership breakfast featured our Salute to Small Business. Chamber members with 15 or less employees were invited to submit a 75-word summary about their business. The summaries were compiled into a document and distributed to all attendees at the breakfast. Three small businesses were drawn to receive spotlight recognition - those businesses were A & R Cleaning Services, Jo's Baskets & Gifts and Speech Therapy Services. A grand prize winner was drawn and received the use of a digital billboard in July sponsored by Hibbs Insurance. The grand prize winner was Queen Nail Spa.
Our program also featured a panel discussion with small business owners Chad Beyer, i5 design group; Andy Carloss, Midtown Market; Rocia Keeling, Rocia's, LLC; and Tammy Zimmerman, Payment Plus.
